Daniel Kontur

Born in Germany to Czech and Hungarian parents and raised in Ireland, Daniel now splits his time between London and Budapest.

His work on the internationally distributed drama-doc series Murder Maps was praised by Guillermo del Toro as “a classy, well-crafted—yet lurid—recreation of infamous Edwardian/Victorian murders.” He also co-created Myths & Monsters for Netflix, a six-part animated documentary series exploring European mythology and the history of storytelling.

Previously, Daniel’s short films have screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals worldwide, earning awards along the way. He also made a dent in commercials, with recent work for Burger King going viral on Reddit, earning two YDA nominations at Cannes, and making the long list at the 1.4 Awards.

Recently, Daniel has found a new passion in AI filmmaking, blending his directing experience with emerging technologies to pioneer new visual forms. He is the creator of Tiny Realms and is also collaborating with agencies and animation studios on various narrative formats.
